Choose a rhinoplasty surgeon in Turkey by checking the surgeon's specialist certification, asking for before and after photos of noses similar to yours, making sure breathing is assessed, and getting a clear plan in writing. A good surgeon also tells you what is not possible for your nose.
1. Is the surgeon a certified plastic surgeon?
Ask for the surgeon's full name and specialist title. In Turkey, rhinoplasty is done by plastic surgeons and by ear, nose and throat surgeons. Extra European qualifications, such as the EBOPRAS board exam, and membership of international societies such as ISAPS show training that you can check yourself.
2. Do the before and after photos match your nose?
Look for photos of noses that started like yours: a similar bump, tip or skin thickness. Ask to see the side view and photos taken at least a year after surgery, when the swelling is gone.
3. Is breathing part of the plan?
If you have a deviated septum or trouble breathing through your nose, tell the surgeon. Correcting the septum can often be done in the same operation. A good consultation looks at function, not only at shape.
4. Is the result realistic for your face?
- A surgeon should explain what fits your face and skin, not only copy a photo you bring.
- Thick skin limits how fine the tip can become; ask about it.
- Be careful with promises of a perfect result. Every nose heals in its own way.
5. Open or closed technique?
Both are good techniques. The surgeon chooses based on what needs to change. A clinic that offers only one technique for every nose, or claims that one is always better, gives you a reason to ask more questions.
6. Recovery and stay
The splint is usually removed after about a week, and swelling settles over months. Read rhinoplasty recovery week by week so you know what to expect before you book your flight.
7. What happens if a correction is needed?
A small number of patients need a revision. Ask before you book how the clinic handles this, who pays for what and how follow-up works after you are home.
